After having studied classical ballet in Stuttgart, Isabelle Schad danced in various classical companies and extended her dance education through workshops and scholarships. As a performer she was member of Ultima Vez / Wim Vandekeybus and worked a.o. with Olga Mesa and Eszter Salamon. Since 1999, she is developing her own projects which are presented internationally. She received several nominations, prizes and working residencies. In 2003, she has been conceiving together with Bruno Pocheron and Ben Anderson the Good Work-Project. It aims to be an artist network that explores non-hierarchical working methods. In 2007, she directed the mentoring project at Tanztage Berlin. She is part of the project Praticable together with Alice Chauchat, Frédéric de Carlo, Frédéric Gies und Odile Seitz. In her work she is exploring relationships between the body, its languages and representations. She focuses on working methods that privilige exchange, the sharing of ideas, practices and knowledge as a tool for circulation, for continuity in learning and cooperation with other artists.
